Watch over your waste is looking for your Talent and a limited amount of your valuable time.
Introduction
With time, money, energy, food, and talent………..(one could go on) being wasted wOOw will need lots of good enthusiastic bright talent of all ages to turn the tide on all the waste.
This waste is not in the millions but now into billions of euros. Some will disagree on the numbers but wOOw is out to open all our eyes to waste you never saw. To make it easier to understand, 1bn waste equals over 2500 new homes. 10bn saved is equal to 25,000 new homes. wOOw believes waste (all forms combined) is the main contributor to our environmental issues. It is something we must tackle immediately. Watching Over Our Waste (wOOw) is You, since You will be the eyes. Even though we are looking to employ some permanent staff, anyone who is watching over our waste and takes action to eliminate same is in essence working alongside wOOw. You also will be an important contributor in helping eliminate waste and in ultimately making the world a better place in which to live for all its citizens.
wOOw believe that tackling waste and achieving environmental goals can be achieved with less pain or sacrifice than our current path forward. How?. By using our resources more cleverly. If we are very clever we will all have more free time. If you consider that waste is at least 20% and possibly 30%+ and must be paid for through your labour, if we eliminate all this waste you will get 20% (one day per week or 52 days per year) more time to do other things than work. Using the 30% figure we can attain this goal and more.
The seven manaquins above are representing seven 17 year olds who missed the election as their 18th birthday fell between 12th November 2024 and 17th March 2025 . 45,000 (22,000 +23,000 at least affected)
To celebrate the journey a movie on what at times has been a rocky road so far is in the planning. Since wOOw is now up and running and wOOw is You, the movie will be about You. It is also You who will write the script. While wOOw has a vision as to where this journey might lead us no business or individual alone can determine where. You will decide. wOOw.ie will be just one vehicle that it hopes you will use so we can all do our part.
The story will have many twists and turns. If you look at archived posts (starting soon) on woowiethemovie.ie you will see that the script is ever-changing. We are all part of the movie and can all influence it.
For your part, do reflect on your values and what type of world you would like to see for you, your family, friends, fellow citizens and those who are to take over the responsibility once you have left. Not a single one of us alive today will be here in 2150.
OUR legacy will be. Let’s make it a good one!
You who will be lucky to be working directly for wOOw will be a very privileged group. You will inspire others. You will be instrumental in changing the way we all view the limited resources of this planet. Those resources include our time. While Watching Over Our Waste will ask those whom it will employ to give it time for reward it will also encourage each to take as much free time as possible. Watching Over Our Waste does not want to take more of your time than is necessary. It is too limited and valuable.
Already almost €20,000 has been spent to help promote wOOw and wOOw.ie.
Watch Over Our Waste has been promised a further cash injection of €50,000 from its founder Sean O’ Leary
It is hoped that others will donate.
Over the coming weeks, several projects will be showcased on wOOw.ie. It is hoped that the waste highlighted will be eliminated and that at least 20% of the savings will be given to wOOw. This money will be used to employ more staff.
Our target is to have five employed in the next few months.
We eventually, given the volume of work, expect wOOw will employ hundreds and eventually thousands. The founders of many new companies in recent times also had a dream and a belief in themselves. So too does wOOw.
The Rose in the picture is the call sign of Lilly Rose who wrote to our President Mr Michael D. Higgins on 16th October 2024 asking on your behalf that should the Taioseach Mr Harris come to him without good reason that he send him back to Dail. Sadly her call was not listened to.
The competition/the challenges if you wish to be employed by wOOw.
To find the best people to work for wOOw it is proposed that a competition like the TV series The Apprentice be run However, unlike the Apprentice where just one person gets a job, we are aiming for five and possibly 174.
How will they? You the first apprentice and the founder will raise the funds.
1. Proposing solutions to identified waste and demanding poor/inefficient practices to stop. Then looking for 20%+ of the savings.
2 Selling merchandise like tee shirts, sweatshirts, hats, cups, and more with wOOw.ie logo and messages.
There will be a number of challenges but firstly.
To enter You must be over 18 years of age.
Competition start date is Sat 25th January 2025
You will also need to be on the register to vote to qualify. Go onto https://www.electoralcommission.ie/register-to-vote/
It only takes a few minutes.
The first challenge for you will be to secure a guarantee in writing from any TD of your choice. The guarantee will be that in any future elections, they will no longer use election posters or leaflets like they have used in the past. You must be the first to secure the guarantee from a selected TD. You need to get this in writing with a time and date on your agreement to prove you are the first. It will need to say on the agreement that you were the first. You only need to get one agreement with anyone TD of your choice.
If someone else has got an agreement before you try another TD
All those who get individual agreements will be entered into stage two of the competition once a copy of the agreement is sent to wOOw.
You are asked to read the proposal “Eliminating election posters and leaflets)” on the projects page. Do point out to any TD you visit that our aim and yours when employed by wOOw is to make the new system, with all posters and leaflets online a better and more fair and equal system than the old. Make them aware of the benefits. wOOw won’t list all of them here as it is also your job to educate yourself before you take on this task.
While only one job is guaranteed wOOw will be putting everyone who performs well in subsequent rounds of the competition on a panel for future employment
wOOw expects to employ many, maybe all from this panel.
wOOw wishes you all well, looking forward to having your energy driving the project forward to the benefit of all.
Jobs offer call and free tee shirts offer to 18yr olds
wϴϴw
Have you turned 18 since 12th November 2024 ? Or will be between now and 17th March 2025? If so wϴϴw invites you to apply to work for its new exciting venture.
If you would like to find out more read the job offer above . If you would also like to get a special edition wϴϴw tee shirt made especially and for your age group….read on.
If you don’t have time to read (for now) the introduction where this is explained scroll down to the Proposal.
Introduction.
Why is wϴϴw addressing you in a separate post?
The calling of an early election on 8th November 2024 meant that close to 22,000 of you missed an opportunity to vote .
You missed the opportunity to vote on 29th November as the election was called earlier than it need have been. A total waste of time, and money but most importantly a waste of your missed voting opportunity. It could and should have been as late as the 25th of March and then you would have had a vote. All are told how important it is to vote. If so why were you disenfranchised?
wϴϴw believes your vote was more important than calling an early election? wϴϴw believes that everyone over 16yrs should have a vote, subject to a test that perhaps all voters should take. Given how easily or for so little some older voters give their vote many of you would no doubt have had a higher value on your vote and should certainly have had one. Anyone who ever watched Dail na nog (https://comhairlenanog.ie/)on tv would be even more impressed than they would be watching the Dail. The current bunch of TDs in the Dail should watch and witness the maturity of these 12 to 18-year-olds. Ironically 23,000 of last years 12/13-year-olds who took part in 2024 will not get to vote in 2029 but would qualify if the next vote was in 2030 which it could have been but for one man’s failed opportunism last November. If the same happens again a sin 2024 (ie election called 12 weeks early )in 2029 over 43,000 could miss out. Add this to the 22,000 now and we have over 63,000 affected. If called in November 2029 a total of 45,000 will still have missed out 23,000 from that election and 22,000 from this one. So the minimum amount of young people affected is 45,000 .Many who missed the vote this time will be almost 23 before they get to vote in a general election and no doubt some will have emigrated without ever having a chance to vote in Ireland
Note the view of the Dail through the manaquins head. Its upside down . Draw your own analysis of the representation. wOOw will publish its own elsewhere on this website shortly but wants you to go first. Include the fish in yours.
While many issues were addressed during the election campaign wϴϴw could see that yours and young people in general issues were not discussed at all.
wϴϴw did speak to many who had turned 18 both before in 2024 and since the election and while some were happy with their lives it was upsetting to hear that more of you had serious issues.
Thank you for sharing your issues. wϴϴw did promise you it was going to work with you in mind. wϴϴw wishes to thank you firstly for your time, secondly for your honesty and for sharing your views on issues(as said already). You are also thanked for the encouragement to carry on with the mission.
The proposal (which is believed will help you all).
wϴϴw now suggests that you visit your local TD and tell them your issues. The first 522 from this group who visit to discuss your issues will get a free wϴϴw special edition tee shirt (note 3 per TD). These are special in that they don’t have the year of the election called by Mr Harris on them . A decision to call early that sadly was unchallenged. These tee shirts have the year your election should have taken place in. So these tee shirts are yours. They have election2025.ie on the back…..see gallery. They also have govewaste.ie on the back. Your wasted vote will be mentioned there soon.
While there are about 22,000 of you for now wϴϴw can only sponsor 522 @3per TD. Perhaps the TDs themselves might like to sponsor some extra . Or perhaps one of their fundraisers might help with more. wOOw is giving away another 522 tee shirts to anyone who gets two election posters used in the election (see “posters for tee shirts” post for conditions).
wϴϴw proposes to add €5 to the price of any tee shirt which will be refunded when a used or unused tee shirt is handed back to wOOw. This does not apply to the free special edition tee shirts. wϴϴw suspects that these may well be kept as long-term souvenirs.
The cost of the extra tee shirts for now is €20…. €15 + the €5 refundable deposit (to the purchaser).
There are many other reasons why an election should not have been called in 2024 . For now will look at one. The longer we can go between elections the less environmental impact they will have over a period. For example, over a 25yr period, we should ideally have 5. At the current rate that would be at least 6 based on the time the government was formed to time dissolved) Considering that the environmental impact alone for current campaigns requires tens of thousands of trees to absorb the associated CO2 emissions we need to smarten up and certainly not call an election early unless necessary. In this case, there was no reason for an election bar opportunism. The public was not calling for one. The poor turnout alone proved that.
Suggest if you feel strongly enough about your missed opportunity that you ask your TD to push for another election, run without the posters and leaflets of the past. Run not just taking onboard the wishes of older voters than you alone but including your issues as well. Forgetting about you and your issues was unforgivable.
Finally, you may be shy about visiting a TD. Consider going as a group. It leads to a better discussion taking place.
Do post on woow.ie or email how you got on. Send a photo and indicate if it can be published if you wish.
The tee shirts it is hoped will be presented to all on Saturday in mid /late February outside the Dail. If you cannot attend on the day appointed another opportunity will be given on the following Wednesday afternoon and if you cannot make that wϴϴw will give the tee shirt to the TD you visited. Will need your name and the associated TD before the date of handover. Suggest you ask the TD to forward it to us if you don’t. wϴϴw will not need any other details but there will be no adjudicating on names on the handover day. Names must be in three days in advance of handover. It’s your responsibility to ensure.
Looking forward to hearing how you get on.
